Reflection
1- My biggest strength as a rock climber is my willingness to try anything. By trying problems or routes that are above my level, I begin to train my muscles to conform and adapt to these harder problems. As a climber, my weaknesses are one, my endurance. I tire quickly on longer sustained sport routes. Also, I need to be mentally tougher about falling when on lead, I sometimes climb with the fear of falling which hinders myself to climb to my full potential.
2- To work on my weaknesses; first, in the gym, I need to do multiple bouldering routes with little or no rest to help my endurance. Outdoors, I need to "run laps" on a route that is longer but stll tests my ability rather than climbing a route once and then moving to a harder route. Mentally, I could work on taking practice falls, either in the gym or ina safe outdoor setting.
3- I absolutely and indefintely plan on climbing in the future. I climbing very enjoyable and personally rewarding, especially climbing outdoors. I can see myself as a climber for many years to come. This class has given me some tools for training and recovery that can help me to push my climbing to the next level.
